People say: Homosexuality is not a choice; they are born that way.
Here's the truth: Homosexuality is a byproduct of the fallen creation, and it falls under three categories.
1. A mental health disorder that needs self-control, prayer, counseling and possibly medications to control because the behavior that comes from that mental disorder is sinful and harmful.
2. A sexual act that a person participates in because they are bored with the norm, so they venture into the dark side. They feel they need some excitement so try a slew of lustful sexual gratifications, which could also include autoerotic asphyxiation and bestiality. We find this same reason being, bored with the norm, with wife swapping. It’s all sinful behavior that needs to be controlled, if you want to be in the Kingdom.
3. The manipulation and indoctrination of children's minds to where they begin to believe it's a desirable lifestyle because of the attention they get. Basically, it becomes a fad until they outgrow it like all other fads.
Either way, it's all part of the fallen creation and it needs to be labeled as a byproduct of the fall and not something to be glorified or pushed as normal. In the same way, pedophilia can be a mental disorder or a lustful desire that needs to be controlled and labelled as part of the fall and not gloried or pushed as normal.
People say: People don’t make the choice to be left-handed or right-handed.
Here's the truth: Being right or left-handed, having blond or black hair, having brown or blue eyes are normal traits of being human and are not sinful, men having sex with men, animals or with children is sin. If you're born with a compulsion to have a same sex partner or with animals or with children it's because of the fallen creation and is just part of the corruption of the sin nature so it's not sin in of itself, but rather, it’s the byproduct of the fallen creation. The desire is not sin, its temptation, temptation is not sin. It's when you give in to that temptation that it becomes sin, so you must use self-control. James 1:12-16 is about all sin, not just homosexuality.
James 1:12-16 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
If you live by your sin nature, you will not be in the Kingdom, but if by the Spirit you resist the desire to sin, you will live. This includes your burning lust to have same sex relationships or any other kinds of immortality.
Romans 8:12-14 Therefore, dear brothers and sisters, you have no obligation to do what your sinful nature urges you to do. For if you live by its dictates, you will die. But if through the power of the Spirit you put to death the deeds of your sinful nature, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.
No matter how strong the compulsion to sin is, no matter what the sin is, we can resist it and overcome it with God’s help, and if we find ourselves being overcome and that temptation is allowed to give birth to sin, you’re not dead yet. Just confess it to God, and admit it as being wrong, and do better next time.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Confess the behavior as sin, don’t glorify it or force people to accept it as normal. Pushing sin as being normal is what allows the sin to become full-grown which, according to James, is what gives sin the power to causes death.
The Bible says by 2 or 3 witnesses we can confirm a truth. Are there 2 or 3 witnesses that prove homosexuality to be a sin? Yes, there are and they are irrefutable.
1. Nature says it's a sin. How do we know this? Because if you put two men on an island and come back a hundred years later, there will be no one left.
2. Medical science says it's a sin. How do we know this? Because of all the health issues caused by that lifestyle.
3. God says it's a sin. How do we know this? Because He says it is all throughout the Scriptures.
Practicing homosexuality will keep you out of the Kingdom, along with all the other sexual immoral behaviors because the behavior is an abomination to God.
Leviticus 18:22 Men, you must not have sexual relations with another man as with a woman. It is an abomination!
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
Just say no, just like we should be doing with drugs.
