How can the Son be God?
Because the term "God" is not a personal name for any one particular being, it's a title given to someone who has authority, and since the Almighty God has given His Son all authority in heaven and on earth He too holds the title, "God" but it's "Mighty God" not "Almighty God".
Matthew 28:18 Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Messiah holds the title "God" because His Father, Almighty God, gave Him His authority, which means the Son is below the Father in authority, but as He relates to us, He is equal to the Father, but as it relates to the Father, the Father is still over and greater than the Son.
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
1 Corinthians 15:27 For the Scriptures say, “God has put all things under his authority.” Of course, when it says “all things are under his authority,” that does not include God himself, who gave Christ his authority.
The Son is equal to the Father, as He relates to us. Just like Joseph was equal to Pharaoh in relation to everyone else in Egypt, but in relation to Pharaoh, Pharaoh is still over Joseph..
Genesis 41:41-44 Pharaoh said to Joseph, “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt.” Then Pharaoh removed his signet ring from his hand and placed it on Joseph’s finger. He dressed him in fine linen clothing and hung a gold chain around his neck. Then he had Joseph ride in the chariot reserved for his second-in-command. And wherever Joseph went, the command was shouted, “Kneel down!” So Pharaoh put Joseph in charge of all Egypt. And Pharaoh said to him, “I am Pharaoh, but no one will lift a hand or foot in the entire land of Egypt without your approval.”
Remember, Satan also holds the title "God" because he is the ruler of this world, but in the end, he will be cast out because he holds the title "God" through deception.
2 Corinthians 4:4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe.
John 12:31 The time for judging this world has come, when Satan, the ruler of this world, will be cast out.
In the end Satan is cast out, but this is not so with the Son. In the end, the Almighty commands all the angels to worship the Son.
Hebrew 1:6 But when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says: “Let all the angels of God worship Him.”
Did you notice the word "Again" in the above verse? This is referring Messiah's resurrection from the dead, which is when He is exalted to the right hand of the Father.
This is all Kingdom language and the new creation and has nothing to do with a co-eternal, co-equal Trinity, God.
Amen...
